Inlay is a decorative technique created to enhance stones and materials of natural origin, and is capable of enhancing the prestige of any building, whether it be a home or a sacred place. At the entrance to this house we created an inlay by selecting marbles of the same color tone. In fact, Crema Valencia, Brown Emperador, Light Emperador and Bianco Sivec were used for this design. The frame that outlines the perimeter of the atrium, on the other hand, is made of Yellow Travertine.
The art of marble inlay
The inlay technique was used for the first time in the territories of Asia Minor to embellish the walls of a royal palace, but it was then consolidated thanks to the artistic tradition of decorations that characterize Christian churches. By setting the marble with decorations and designs, floors and furniture can be covered, giving a priceless value to simple coatings or furnishing accessories.
Before carrying out the work there is a very accurate design phase. These creations are carried out following a specific commission and vary according to the needs of each one. It starts with the choice of the type of marble and the resulting color, in order to create harmony with the designs that will be created later.
