Marble flaming is a surface treatment technique that uses high-temperature flames to alter the stone’s structure, creating a rough, irregular and non-slip texture with natural appeal. This process is achieved by applying an intense flame that causes thermal expansion of mineral crystals, followed by rapid cooling that generates micro-detachments, producing a vibrant and dynamic appearance that captures light uniquely. Flaming is ideal for outdoor applications and areas with water presence such as stairs, fountains, pool edges and even shower trays, thanks to its anti-slip properties and resistance to atmospheric agents. This finish can also be applied to travertine, granite and selected natural stone materials.

The flame causes rapid heating and thermal expansion of mineral crystals, followed by immediate water cooling that creates thermal shock, generating detachment of minute flakes and producing an irregular, rough texture. We use equipment ranging from portable tools to automatic flaming systems mounted on work benches, allowing us to treat large-format slabs uniformly.

Our technical expertise enables us to precisely calibrate flame movement speed and distance from the surface to achieve the desired finish. Following flaming, we typically apply brushing to limit surface asperities, creating what is known as flamed and brushed finish, combining precision craftsmanship with advanced technology to ensure functional and aesthetic results.
