Origine, crafted from Port Laurent marble, is a sculptural vase born of a profound dialogue with the material.
The form is not imposed: it emerges. The material is not merely a medium; it is the source.
The project came to life through a collaboration with the sculptor and artist Riccardo Gatti, who conceived the work by interpreting the stone as a living element. The craftsmanship of Pistore Marmi translates this vision into the material, through a process that combines artistic sensitivity and technical mastery. From this process emerges an essential duality: on the one hand, the rock, authentic, marked by fractures, tensions and irregularities; on the other, a pure, polished geometry that introduces measure, control and abstraction. Two conditions that are only apparently opposed, finding balance here within the same material.
A single block passes through different states, moving from chaos to form.
The hollow carved out within it introduces a further dimension: space becomes an integral part of the work, defining its rhythm and perception. Each vase is a unique and unrepeatable piece, in which the nature of the marble and human intervention coexist in a continuous balance between primal force and formal rigour.
