CALACATTA MACCHIA VECCHIA: THE ITALIAN MARBLE THAT DEFINES LUXURY
Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble (Calacatta Old Stain, tranlating from Italian) is synonymous with elegance and prestige in the world of design. This Italian marble, quarried from the renowned Carrara quarries, is famous for its exceptional beauty and uniqueness. With a homogeneous white background and gray-gold veins with brown and hazelnut hues that intertwine in spider web patterns, it is a material that does not go unnoticed.
At Pistore Marmi, we have used this magnificent natural stone for the realization of several design projects, in collaboration with architects and designers, and we want to share with you the characteristics and ways of using this marble, a symbol of elegance, prestige and luxury.
Calacatta Macchia Vecchia, characteristics
This fine natural stone is distinguished by its bold and harmonious veining. Warm tones of gray and gold with softly shaded veins from light yellow to brown, sometimes tending to green and purple, run through its light background, making it extremely refined and valuable. Its peculiarity and rarity make it an exclusive material, suitable for those seeking a touch of luxury and distinction for their interiors.
This marble is particularly suited to the book matched laying technique, which enhances its veining creating unique patterns. This technique not only enhances the intrinsic beauty of marble, but also transforms any surface into a work of art.
USE OF CALACATTA MACCHIA VECCHIA
Because of its sophistication and distinctive character, in our experience Calacatta Macchia Vecchia is a favorite choice of architects and designers for interior design. In our workshop, we have had the opportunity to work this fantastic marble on several occasions to make different creations such as kitchen countertops, bathroom wall tiles and living area walls.
Here are some of the most common uses:
MARBLE BATHROOM FURNITURE
Bathroom is one of the most important rooms in any home, a place of relaxation and well-being. The use of this fine Italian marble in this room not only enhances its aesthetics, but also helps to create a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere.
The extraordinary patterns created by the veining of Calacatta Old Stain can be used for wall and floor coverings and even functional elements such as washbasins, transforming the bathroom into a true sanctuary of elegance.
MARBLE TABLES AND COFFEE TABLES
Calacatta Macchia Vecchia is a perfect choice for dining and coffee tables. Its soft, enveloping hues manage to balance the stone’s cool feel, creating pieces that are both functional and aesthetically appealing. A table made from this marble becomes the centerpiece of any room, drawing attention with its beauty and timeless style.
MAINTENANCE OF CALACATTA MACCHIA VECCHIA
In addition to its extraordinary beauty, Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble is also prized for its durability and strength. However, because it is a porous natural stone, it requires some care in maintenance.
For routine maintenance of marble, use a clean damp cloth well wrung out and dry immediately. Protect the surface from aggressive events, intense heat and acidic products (wine, coffee, lemon, vinegar and similar). Absolutely avoid abrasive products. Marble by its nature has poor resistance to acidic substances that can corrode its surface by penetrating into the pores creating stains. Therefore in the case of acidic substances spilled on the surface dry immediately.
WHY CHOOSE CALACATTA OLD STAIN?
Choosing this type of marble means opting for a material that combines tradition and innovation. This stone is not only aesthetically beautiful; it is also a symbol of quality and durability. Perfect for those who want to add a touch of luxury to their interiors, it is a material that will enhance any space, whether it is a bathroom, kitchen or living room.
